Let’s Plan your Special Day

With the right combination of oceanfront event venues, customizable packages and delicious menus, planning a destination wedding in Puerto Rico can be as breezy as the winds that blow through our palm trees. Our attentive and personable staff has excellent working relationships with dozens of local vendors in the San Juan area, so no matter who you select as your florist, decorator, photographer or tech team, it’s likely we already know exactly how to work with them. And if you don’t already have someone in mind, our catering team will be more than happy to recommend several options until we find the right fit for your celebration.

Our Top 10 Tips for Your Destination Wedding in Isla Verde

One

Bring your I.D. While it’s true that passports aren’t required for U.S. citizens visiting Puerto Rico, you and your guests must have a state-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license or department of motor vehicles-issued non-driving photo I.D.

Two

Don't forget to obtain your marriage license soon upon arriving in Puerto Rico. Try to arrive a couple of days before the wedding. We can refer a preferred vendor who will assist you in obtaining your marriage license and paperwork.

Three

Use sunblock while spending time on the beach. You don't want to have a bad sunburn on the day of your wedding!

Four

It’s a big island with plenty to see. Before you arrive, make an agenda of the things that you like to do and the sites you would want to see while in Puerto Rico.

Five

Prior to arriving, let us know of any specific requests that you or your guests may have. Whether it has to do with room preferences or food allergies, let us know and we will take care of it.

Six

Everyone loves to dress up for a wedding, but remember to bring casual clothes that keep you cool - bathing suits, shorts, tank tops, flip-flops, etc. After all, we are a tropical island!

Seven

Forget about keeping an eye on the clock and set your watch to "island time.” Avoid the temptation to micromanage your wedding planning. Schedule regular check-ins and then trust us to work our magic while you spend time with your guests.

Eight

Think about your guests. Yes, your big day is all about you – but you want your guests to be talking about it for years to come, too! This is one of the reasons our property, with its many oceanfront amenities, is an exceptional choice.

Nine

Pack your suitcase well and bring everything you’ll need. Shipping overseas can be expensive. Pack as much as possible into checked luggage to avoid taking the time from your weekend to go shopping for beauty supplies, clothes or sundries.

Ten

Always carry your dress on board the plane, even if it means having to fold it. Plan ahead and make arrangements to have it pressed and steamed at the hotel or nearby cleaner facility.

No matter your dream, Isla Verde Weddings will turn it into a reality.
